    Robert "Bob" Arnold Pruitt

    October 10, 1938 - April 24, 2022

Robert Arnold Pruitt (“Bob Pruitt”) passed away on April 24th, 2022, in Rockwall, Texas after a lengthy battle with Cancer. Bob was born on October 10th, 1938, to his parents Raymond & Cora Pruitt in Paynesville West Virginia. Bob is preceded in death by both parents, sister: Theodosia Brady, brother: Bobby Pruitt, great-grandson: Killian Pruitt, stepdaughter: Tracy Barbay, Parental in-laws: Howard & Lou Naler, six nephews and one niece. He is survived by his wife Nancy Pruitt of Rockwall TX, two sons: Robert Pruitt Jr (Molly), Lima OH, Jeff Pruitt (Ginnie), Granbury TX, daughter Lisa Edwards of Coldwater MS, stepson Terry Barbay (Zelena) of Rockwall TX, Four grandchildren, Tim Sinquefield, Coldwater MS, Daniel Pruitt, Aubrey TX, Alex Pruitt, Lima OH, Alexis Right, Dallas, TX, one step-granddaughter Kyndal Barbay and four great-grandchildren. He has 4 surviving brothers: Jim Pruitt Oak Creek WI, Earnest Pruitt, Carrollton TX, Greg Pruitt, Henderson, CO, Stevie Pruitt, Cedar Hill, TX, and 2 sisters: Ruby Avramovic Wheeling IL, Diana Posival, Grand Prairie, TX, and 80+ nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Bob is the second oldest of nine children, left West Virginia when he was 18 years old and eventually ended up in the suburban area of Chicago Illinois. There he spent his early adult life having a family of three children and operating his own Full-Service Gas stations and towing services. In 1974 Bob moved to Texas, where he spent the remainder of his life, first working as a mechanic and then with his wife Nancy building his business Roadmaster Automotive. Bob & Nancy celebrated their 40th year anniversary in February this year. Bob spent his life working hard and playing just as hard. He loved his humongous family, being on a boat, traveling by RV, gardening in his backyard, and watching football. Bob lived his life with a youthful disposition and was free-spirited. He never met a stranger and worked to take care of other people’s needs whether they were family, friends, or strangers. Bob gave away more than he made, and he never passed up an opportunity to make someone laugh, smile, or scratch off a lottery ticket. Bob is celebrating going home to the loved ones that preceded him and leaving behind numerous family members and friends who loved him. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, May 2, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Monday, May 2, 2022, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location.
