    Richard Albert Goodrich

    November 12, 1946 - May 21, 2022

    Richard Albert Goodrich, age 75, of Rockwall, TX, passed away May 21, 2022. He was born November 12, 1946, in Cleveland, OH, to Eleanor Ida (Sharpe) Goodrich and Louis Edward Goodrich. Richard served his country for 23 years, from 1966 to 1989 in the United States Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. During his service, he was stationed at many locations around the world and served aboard 3 Navy vessels assigned to the Atlantic Fleet. He was a decorated combat veteran who served in Vietnam. Among his many awards were the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Navy Achievement Medal, and Meritorious Unit Citation. His last assignment as a Physician Assistant was at the Naval Air Station Chase Field in Beeville, TX. Rick was an avid gunsmith who enjoyed the history and replica of the firearm and was an experienced marksman. He had a love for horses and enjoyed the outdoors. Ricks's favorite time of day was the evening when he would take walks with his family while the children and pets played outside. He was a member of Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and very active in the church community. He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him. Richard is survived by his children: Kimberly Kjederquist and husband Dave, Thomas (TJ) Greenwell and wife Heather, Rachel Salinas and husband Robby, Jason Frantz and wife Anita, and Amanda Bell and husband Eugene; sixteen grandchildren; siblings: Audrey Jones and husband Skip, and Teresa Heran and husband Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Virginia Fisher, and Louis Goodrich, Jr. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location. A reception will follow services at Lakeside Village Cabana, at 4109 Cabana Court, Rockwall, TX 75087.
