Marty Dumas

March 14, 1972 - April 8, 2021

Martin (Marty) Keith Dumas, born on March 14, 1972, in Garland, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2021. He never knew a stranger and could make you feel at ease the minute he said hello. He was the guy that everyone called when they needed a helping hand. Marty had been with Rest Haven Funeral Home for over 20 years and was a founding team member of Pet Memories Cremation Service. We will all remember Marty’s drive, work ethic, and passion for serving families during their most difficult times. When he wasn’t working, you would most likely find Marty on his boat. He loved the water and took great joy in sharing his love for water sports with his boys and their friends. He loved cheering on Andrew during hockey games and Alex on the field at halftime during football games. His boys were his pride, and Marty will always be “World’s Greatest Dad.” Marty was the one we all relied on to get us through these rough times. It is unimaginable to realize we have to get through this without him. However, we hear his voice in our minds, telling us it will all be ok and together, we will hold each other up. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Alta Dumas, Porter and Violeta Beasley, and his Uncle Charles Beasley. Marty is survived by his sons, Alexander Keith of Richardson, Texas and Andrew Laine of Rowlett, Texas, and their mother, April Dumas of Plano, Texas; his parents, Albert and Linda Dumas of Garland, Texas; brother, Randy Dumas (Michelle) of Sachse, Texas; nieces Brooke (Brandon) Couch of Wylie, Texas and Meagan Dumas of Wylie, Texas; his uncle Roy (Jamie) Dumas of Watonga, OK; his aunt, Paula Beasley of McKinney, Texas; and his beloved pets Stuart and Bella. Marty had many beloved cousins and extended family that will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 16, 2021, at First United Methodist Church Rockwall with Pastor Rick Donaho and Dr. Russell Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Marty Renfro, David Johnston, Greg Deere, Paul Jarvis, Chip Beasley, and William Pipkins. The family will gather with friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
