Larry “Wayne” Mershawn passed away on February 13th, 2021 at the age of 71. A Celebration Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 12 pm, at Lakeshore Church, Rockwall, TX. Officiating the service will be Dr. David Shibley, Pastor Brad Howard, and Pastor John Lea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Global Advance of Rockwall, TX, at globaladvance.org. Wayne was born September 6th, 1949 in Dallas, Texas. He was brought up in a Christian home and attended Oak Cliff Assembly of God where he met the love of his life, Rebecca Ann McNellis, who he married on August 13, 1971. Wayne was proud to serve his country in the Navy/Naval Air Intelligence. He studied architecture at UTA & went on to become a member of the AIA. He worked for Vantage Corp, Kaiser Permanente, Marshall Erdman Architects, and went on to ultimately open his own architectural firm, where he worked with his sons. He was a founding member of Lakeshore Church, beginning in 1991 and served as an elder. Wayne Mershawn was a gentle soul that showed much compassion for anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his father, Ebbs Garvin Mershawn and mother, Edna Mae Rogers. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Ann McNellis Mershawn, and his 3 children, Michael Mershawn and his wife Christy, Matthew Mershawn and his wife BrookeLyn, and Mitchel Mershawn and his wife Amber. Also survived by 10 grandchildren: Mason, Mikey, McKenna, Parker, Ella Leigh, Jackson, Tucker, Ella Kae, Truett, and Lincoln. With numerous other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces & nephews. Wayne loved nothing more than to spend time with his family, especially camping, but really just being anywhere with them. He will be greatly missed.
