Gwendolyn Kay Williams, 70, of Garland, Texas, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was welcomed to her forever home in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. She was born October 21, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to Calvin and Edith Phillips. In 2004, Gwen married her loving and devoted husband, Wilson, and they were blessed with 17 years of marriage. Gwen graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1970, where she was the yearbook editor-in-chief. She also wrote several articles that were published in the White Rocker Newspaper. Gwen was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church for 70 years. During those years, she was an active GMA member and participated in many activities of the youth group. She was also a Sunday school teacher, where she had the pleasure of teaching her grandchildren. Gwen was a member of the Cosmos Review Class, where she served as the treasurer. Gwen enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry and retired in 2015. Gwen was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church and friends. She was strong, compassionate, courageous and anyone that knew her was touched by her beautiful smile, sweet spirit and her kind heart. Gwen is survived by her loving husband, Wilson Williams; children: Stacey Denny and Reade, Angie Krowka and Kyle, Amy Williams, Aaron Williams and Cami; grandchildren: Brittney Boyd and Brad, Brooks Binnion and Kyla, Brenna Binnion, Miranda Denny, Kaden Krowka, Karson Krowka, Kayleigh Krowka, Kasey Krowka, Alaina Williams, Joe Williams, Ana Lucia Williams; great-grandchildren: Hudson, Colt, Copelynn, Lex, Bowen; siblings: Pam Rothermel and Charles, Jan Howell and Bobby; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss her dearly. Gwen is preceded in death by her son, Bryan Williams; and parents: Calvin and Edith Phillips. A homegoing celebration for Gwen is to be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at [email protected] Church (Bethel Baptist) in Dallas, Texas, with Pastor Donny Sadler officiating. The address of the church is 9314 Ferguson Rd., Dallas, Texas 75228. The family will receive friends and loved ones preceding the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Rockwall, Texas.
