    Barbara Jean Cox

    July 2, 1940 - March 21, 2022

Barbara Jean Cox, age 81, of Royse City, TX, passed away peacefully and entered God’s kingdom on March 21, 2022. She was born July 2, 1940, in Columbia, Kentucky, to Herbert Rogers and Emma (Bryant) Rogers. Before retiring, she was a dedicated employee at Chilton Corporation/TRW/Experian for 44 years, earning several recognitions for outstanding service. In 2009, Jean moved to Royse City where she became highly involved with her church and was dearly loved by her church family at Trinity Baptist Church. She was a wonderful Godly woman and an exemplary role model for all that knew her. She enjoyed reading her bible and held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with everyone around her every chance she got. Jean was also a doting, loving grandmother -- and great-grandmother! -- and radiated with pride whenever she spoke about them. Jean touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Jean is survived by her daughters: Edie Nelson and husband, John, and Lori Cox and boyfriend, Billy; grandchildren: Heather Lovell and boyfriend, James, Amanda Prock and husband, Clayton, and McKenzie Hammontree and husband, Austin; great-grandchildren: Rylan Jace, Kyder Wade, William Thomas, Kaisley Layne, and Riley Belle; sister: Joy Steinborn and husband, Erhardt; and brothers: Jr Pickett and Rick Pickett; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George Cox III; an infant son, Jimmy Cox, and her parents. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 3rd, at 2pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Royse City. All are welcome to join the family in celebrating her beautiful life.
