Cecil Hastings, age 55 of Rockwall, TX, passed away October 20, 2009. He was born January 27, 1954, in Lubbock, TX, to Eugene H. & Beulah (Chapman) Hastings. Cecil graduated from Texas Tech University in 1979 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and attained his Master’s degree in business administration from Abilene Christian University in 1985. He was proud of his work ethic from his earliest childhood “career” of delivering papers to his adult profession as an adjuster. Cecil was the owner and operator of BelFiore Salon and Day Spa, located in Rockwall. He always made a great effort to stay involved in the lives of his children and was fiercely proud of Adrienne, who helps manage BelFiore Spa, Nicholas, who is stationed in Bahrain with the Navy and the newest addition to his family, grandbaby Hunter James. Cecil loved the Cowboys and fishing in the mountains of Red River, NM with his family and friends.  He attended Holy Trinity by the Lake Episcopal Church.

Cecil is survived by his wife: Sheryl Hastings of Rockwall, TX; daughter: Adrienne Mull & husband Chris of Royse City, TX; son: Nick Hastings of Rockwall, TX, but currently stationed in Iraq with the Navy; brothers: Gerald and Johnny Hastings of Lexington, KY, and Bruce Hastings of Lubbock, TX; grandson: Hunter Mull of Royse City, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister: Linda Rich.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel with Father Timothy Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

Cecil was one of a kind. What an honor it was to have worked with him. Nothing was more important to him than his family. It was very refreshing to see a husband and father be so close with his wife and children, and grandchild. You were his whole world. Cecil will be greatly missed. I thank the good Lord that I had a chance to be blessed with his friendship.   Cecil... hold on tight to those angels wings...your glorious destination awaits you.

It was with a great sense of loss when I heard of Cecil’s passing. My condolence to the Hastings Family. He will be greatly missed. He always made you smile with his jokes and antics. But when it came to his work, I greatly admired him especially his demands. I will always be thankful for teaching me to do things the “Texan Way”. I guess in another life we will have that lunch at Crab Shack.
With my deepest sympathy,

I have known Cecil for many years, since I was a tiny S. Bird...and have had the honor of him telling me what to do for almost a year...I love him very much...and will miss him dearly. Sheryl, I'm so sorry...I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain. But you and the family are in my prayers daily...I love you guys so much. Kisses to little Hunter. This office isn't the same without him, and will never be able to replace Cecil Hastings. I have hope I will see him again, and we will drink Coors Light and laugh once again... Jake (Royal S.Bird)
